Australian Spy Museum at the University of New South Wales SecEdu conference

June 26th 2025

For the second year ASM has participated in the SecEdu conference held at the University of NSW.

SecEdu began as a collaboration between UNSW and the Commonwealth Bank and promotes Cyber Security as a career choice. SecEdu collaborates with and features speakers from other universities, as well as high profile guest speakers from industry and government.

Once again ASM provided a display of Enigma machines and secret messaging equipment. These provide future cyber operators a rare opportunity to get “hands on” with fully working machines from the birth of cyber and computing itself.

ASM’s Founder Mike Pritchard says “One challenge with cyber is that the subject matter is intangible and ephemeral – what our display does is make these concepts real and relatable to our new cyber cadre. It is a touchstone experience for young cyber people to be able to see cryptography rendered in physical form right in front of them.”

Thanks to UNSW and SecEdu for the opportunity participate, we wish the students all the best.
