Spycraft Experiences

Bringing espionage history to life

While planning for an Australian Spy Museum, we are offering amazing and educational spycraft experiences to help with our fundraising.

These unique-in-the-world talks use genuine espionage artefacts to bring to life WWII codebreaking and the birth of cyber, the nature of nation state threat actors, and the unsung role of women in espionage and technology.

These are unforgettable experiences that your audience will talk about for years to come.

Rotors of a Pre-WWII German Enigma cipher machine
Enigma – demo’d live & explained

A detailed demo of the iconic German Enigma machine – how it was developed, used by the military, and how WWII codebreaking led to the birth of computing.

East German Mikrat / Microdot Camera
Tools of the Dark Side

A tour of the incredible espionage gadgets and methods of the Cold War – the tech may have evolved into cyber, but the underlying motivations are constant.

Spy radios and other tools of female agents of the WWII French Resistance
Femme Fatale – Women in Espionage

An eye-opening and inspiring look at the women of espionage and technology – from Mata Hari and Grace Hopper to 21st century digital-enabled spies.

Life and Death at the Berlin Wall

The Berlin Wall was a Cold War flashpoint for nearly 30 years – this talk uses original spytech and artefacts from the Wall itself to bring this period to life.

An amazing encounter for your audience

These are very personalised behind-the-scenes tours of a new museum collection. We present astonishing spycraft artefacts so you can experience them up close, see them demonstrated, and learn more about the origins of the modern threats you face today. What could be better than a wine tasting with real spycraft tools.

These are a powerful complement to cyber awareness training. An intimate learning experience that provides a deeper understanding of historical opponents.

How this helps the
Australian Spy Museum

While we’ve personally invested a huge amount to acquire the collection, its another challenge to build a physical museum to house, protect and share it. Collections need expert care to protect them from humidity, pests, damage and theft – all of these are real risks to a collection that is unique in the southern hemisphere.

These events bring in modest revenue to help temporarily house the collection while we continue planning, and hopefully introduce us to potential sponsors.

Funding – helps us protect & share the collection
2-way learning – your feedback helps us improve
Community – helps build a supporter network
